Scholarships

We believe students should have the opportunity to study abroad at affordable rates. In line with this mission, every student who applies for and is accepted into a CSO summer program is eligible to receive a scholarship valued up to $1200. Scholarships are awarded as a discount applied to program tuition fees. Eligible students will automatically receive the applicable scholarship and are not required to submit a scholarship application unless specified otherwise.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Student must be in good academic standing as demonstrated by a GPA score of 2.3/4.0 (60% or higher)

• No prior academic record/offence

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree

Students are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible for summer programs in order to guarantee a higher scholarship award.

Additional scholarships are available for students attending summer programs at designated partner institutions. Consult with an academic advisor to learn more about eligibility and the scholarship application process.

Why do a summer study abroad program with CSO?
Take advantage of lower tuition rates and the opportunity to experience a new culture and country! Our unique partnerships with universities around the world allow our students to take summer courses across a wide variety of disciplines with transferrable credits. We believe in giving students the best possible experience abroad, which is why we dedicate our time and resources to give you 24/7 on-site support while abroad and assist you with all the necessary travel arrangements.
To be admitted into one of our summer sessions, we require that students have a minimum 2.3/4.0 GPA (60% or higher) with good academic standing and no academic record. Where applicable, we also require that students demonstrate English language abilities with an IELTS score of greater than 6.0 (or TOFEL score greater than 60). Once students submit an online application, our student service staff will assist you with checking your eligibility.
All students are welcome to apply for CSO scholarships given that they meet the basic program eligibility requirements. We do our best to guarantee a scholarship for each student that applies for our programs; but be sure to note that the earlier you apply for a summer program, the higher the scholarship amounts available!
Yes, you can! In fact, many of our students have chosen to do this. For many, they would like to complete as many of their courses during the summer break as possible. We allow students to select a maximum of 5 courses, and these can be spread across both summer session months—June and July. For example, students may choose to complete 3 courses in June and 2 courses in July, though the choice is entirely yours!
At most destinations, students can choose to stay in on-campus dormitories/residences or off-campus housing which are always located within commuting distance of the university’s campus. CSO staff will assist each applicant in establishing overseas accommodations.
Given our wide variety of courses that range across most undergraduate disciplines, the choice typically comes down to the type of program you are currently pursuing at your home university. Students often choose to take elective courses and/or core module courses. Whatever the case, we recommend that you submit an online application and specify all the courses you would like to take or are interested in. We work with you through course consultations to identify the best options available that meet your personal, academic, and career goals.

Dr. Arifusalam Shaikh Dr. Arifusalam Shaikh is a CEO & co-founder of Creatros Technologies, a postdoctoral fellow at Memorial University of Newfoundland and an assistant professor at Prince Mohamad University. Dr. Shaikh is professional at management and entrepreneurship and he provides lots of creative solutions for the operations of small business. On April, 2019, Dr. Shaikh led the first India-Bhutan Entrepreneurship Workshop at Aligarh Muslim University, India.
Dr. Imran Saleem Prof. Imran Saleem, Former Vice Chancellor, has served as Professor & Dean, Faculty of Management and Head Department of Management at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi since August 2006. He was elevated to the position of Vice Chancellor, of Singhania University, Rajasthan and served there for about two years. Prof. Saleem has also served as Head of Department under World Bank Project, Consultant under Social Service Agreement, United Nations and also as Consultant Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.
Ahmed Hussein Experienced Professor Of Physics with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in Analytical Skills, Lecturing, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, and Policy Analysis. Strong education professional with a BSc focused in Applied Physics from Alexandria University, MSc and PhD on nuclear physics from University of Alberta. A strong research record in Nuclear and Particle Physics and Nuclear Power.
Jason Dean Jason Dean is an instructor of Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University and Sheridan College. He is an applied econometrician with particular interests in labour, housing, and health economics. He received his PhD in Economics from McGill University. Prior to academia, Jason was a Health Economist at Analysis Group in Montréal where he conducted empirical research on healthcare outcomes and is a co-author on a number of peer-reviewed articles in labour and housing economics.
Xiao Han Xiao Han is a Canadian artist who was born in Wuhan China. Xiao is now hired as an art lecturer in Art and Art History at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. After Xiao’s first public artwork “The Lost Stories-Yee Clun Project”, she starts to participate with further Public Art nowadays. Xiao is also a founder and lead curator for Kyuubi Culture - Chinese Canadian Artist Collective Saskatoon. Xiao and her collective have curated for numerous international exhibitions between artists, universities, and art school.
Noha El Attar Noha is the Doctorate Program Agent for Africa and the Middle East for Toulouse Business School, France. The founder of The Corporateatro©, Coach CEOs and Executives, Personality and Social Psychology Lecturer in South China Normal University & Hebei University of Technology in China, Organizational Psychology Consultant, Expressive Art Director, Psychodramatist, Management Lecturer, Business coach, Enthusiastic Nerd, a Backpack traveler and a Public speaker.
Phong Kuoch Dr. Phong Kuoch’s academic credential includes degrees at the BA, MA and PhD level, as well as a teaching certificate. His academic repertoire is multi-disciplined, ranging from English Literature, Academic Writing and Education, to Socio-Cultural Studies, Psychology and Philosophy.
Alexander Khmaladze Dr. Alexander Khmaladze received his Ph.D. from the University of South Florida, where he developed and assembled a dual-wavelength digital holographic microscope. He then accepted a postdoctoral position at the Chemistry Department of the University of Michigan, where he built a multiplex CARS imaging system. He also studied mechanisms of nano-particle penetration of cellular membrane for drug delivery. He then worked on the application of near-infrared Raman Spectroscopy to the in-vitro monitoring of tissue constructs implanted in mice, with the ultimate goal of applying this technique to human patients.
Dr. Khurshid Alam Dr. Khurshid Alam received his PHD degree of Applied Statistics from Windsor University and now he is an associate professor at Shal Jalal University of Science and Techonology. He has lots of publication on well-known journals and has a good reputation in the academia. His classes are motivated, creative and clear, with multiple interactive activities, which triger students' interest in Statistics subjects.
Dr. Jeffrey S. Kellogg Dr. Jeffrey Kellogg is a practicing Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychologist, an adjunct assistant professor in the Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois where he supervises and teaches graduate students. Dr. Kellogg is also a consultant to an adolescent substance abuse residential program as well as a residential school for high school students with learning disabilities and is also a board member of a LGBTQ youth center. He is a regional representative and council member of the Illinois Psychological Association and IPA’s rural psychology representative to the American Psychological Association.
Dr. John Smithin John Smithin is Professor Emeritus of Economics and Senior Scholar at York University, Toronto, Canada. He previously held teaching appointments at the University of Calgary and Lanchester Polytechnic at Coventry (now Coventry University) in England. He is the author and/or editor or Rethinking the Theory of Money, Credit and Macroeconomics (2018), Essays in the Fundamental Theory of Monetary Economics and Macroeconomics (2013), Money, Enterprise and Income Distribution (2009), Controversies in Monetary Economics (2003, 1994), What is Money? (2000), Macroeconomic Policy and the Future of Capitalism (1996) and Macroeconomics after Thatcher and Reagan (1990).
